ITJ offers Internet-assisted professional development
courses to elementary, middle, and high school teachers of Japanese. Courses combine
self-managed learning materials with the guidance of an on-line instructor and guest
specialists. By using a computer connected to the Internet, students can work at
their own pace while learning in an interactive environment with fellow students
and a learning facilitator.
ITJ is presently in a prototype
phase so that Institute staff can refine the structure and processes of the program.
During the early part of the prototype, the Institute's courses will not be available
for general admission. Other Institute resources, however, are immediately available. While the prototype is underway,
we encourage you to explore the ITJ website and sign our guestbook so that you can receive periodic announcements about ITJ via e-mail.
To learn more about how the Institute can contribute to your professional development
goals, help you access creative teaching materials, and enable you to communicate
with fellow professionals around the world, please take a moment to explore the introductory
information that is available under the categories listed on the left. If you are
interested in preregistering for an ITJ course, you are encouraged to complete the
preregistration form.
